General Tips for Building Your First TIG TICKETS kit
Building your first low poly metal sculpture can look intimidating, but it's much easier than it seems. Like any fabrication project, it's simply a matter of taking one panel at a time.
Every experienced builder started exactly where you are now, and the skills come
surprisingly quickly as the project takes shape.
Don't Chase Perfection
One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is trying to achieve a perfect fit on
every single panel. In reality, these sculptures are made up of dozens of individual
pieces, and small adjustments are simply part of the process.
If you end up with a tiny gap, don't stress. Focus on the overall shape rather than
individual joins, and if needed, position any small imperfections where they'll be least
noticeable. As more panels are added, the sculpture becomes stronger and many
small alignment issues naturally disappear.
Build One Panel at a Time
Looking at a finished sculpture can feel overwhelming, but remember that you're
never building the whole thing at once.
You're simply assembling one panel, then the next, and then the next.
Before long, a stack of flat steel parts begins to transform into a three-dimensional
sculpture. Trust the process and resist the urge to rush ahead.
Don't Be Afraid to Make Adjustments
Once a few tack welds are in place, the assembly becomes surprisingly strong. If
something isn't lining up perfectly, don't assume you've made a mistake.
Use your vice, clamps or pliers to make small adjustments as you go. Fabrication is
rarely about getting everything perfect on the first attempt—it's about making small
corrections until everything comes together.
Use the Instructions

numbers and individual fold diagrams to guide you through the build.
Rather than trying to work everything out by eye, follow the build sequence, compare
your progress with the reference images and don't be afraid to zoom in on the
assembly photos. Looking ahead a few steps can also help you understand how each section comes together.
Bring Your Whole Box of Tricks
While most bends can be completed using a bench vice, pliers and a hammer, every
workshop is different. Don't be afraid to use whatever tools work best for you.
There isn't one "right" way to assemble these kits. You'll naturally develop your
own techniques as you build, and that's all part of the experience
